Born in the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge mountains, Earl Hamner, Jr., (1923-2016) was an award-winning author, screenplay writer, and producer of several well-known teleplays and television series. He got his big break writing episodes for The Twilight Zone, including the popular “You Drive.” His most well-known television series are Falcon Crest and The Waltons, the latter based on his best-selling stories Spencer’s Mountain and The Homecoming. Both novels were inspired by his own childhood.
Lynne Heitman was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She attended Southern Methodist University where she completed her bachelors and masters degrees, both in business administration, and spent one season as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. After graduating, she went to work for a major airline in the finance department. Her career in the airline business spanned fourteen years and included a variety of assignments in finance, operations, and human resources. Her last assignment was as the airline's general manager at Boston's Logan Airport. Logan became the setting for her first novel. She is the author of four thrillers in the Alex Shanahan series.
