Congratulations! To pick the right agent to query, we recommend you read through each agents' preferences here.


A query letter consists of a one-page description or synopsis of your work (including genre, word count, and comparative titles) as well as your relevant background information. Additionally, we ask that you share the first chapter of your manuscript in the body of the email or in the applicable section on QueryTracker.

Cristina Concepcion, Katie Kotchman and Susan Ramer are only accepting queries via Query Tracker. 

Maura Kye-Casella only accepts queries by email, so please send your query letter to dca@doncongdon.com. You must include the word “Query” and the agent’s full name in your subject heading.  Please include your query, sample chapter, your full name, and complete email address in the body of the email, as we do not open unsolicited attachments for security reasons.


No. Please query only one agent at a time.


Each agent has their own approach, but  all queries are read and seriously considered. If an agent is interested in your project, they will reach out to request more materials. 


 We have been made aware of scams using our agency's likeness and/or agents' names that prey on aspiring authors. Please note that Don Congdon Associates never charges for reading fees or other upfront monetary compensation for our services.  

Unless you've queried us and/or were referred to us as potential clients, it is highly unlikely any Don Congdon Associates would contact you directly.


No. We do not represent poetry, screenplays and scripts.
